FAQ
The questions clients ask most.
Twenty short answers covering booking, travel, content, payment and cancellation. Don't see yours? The contact page goes to a real person.
How far in advance should we book?+
Three to nine months is typical. We have placed comedians on four-week notice when a date opens up, but the best fits come from giving us lead time.
Do you handle the contract directly with the comedian?+
Yes. You sign one agreement with Jonathan & Co. Entertainment. We handle the artist contract separately.
What's included in the standard fee?+
Performance, one round of pre-event coordination calls, custom material window where appropriate, and on-site presence for the performance.
What's not included?+
Travel, lodging, ground transportation, A/V, and any content rights beyond the live performance. All disclosed in the contract — no surprises.
Do you provide a backup performer?+
Yes. Every signed contract names a vetted alternate. We have invoked it three times in eight years.
Can the comedian customize material to our company?+
Within reason. We send a culture brief beforehand. Artists generally weave in 5–10 minutes of audience-specific material; the rest is their proven set.
Can we review and approve content beforehand?+
We offer a 'don't joke about' rider for every booking. Full script approval is rare in the industry; we will explain why and what we do instead.
What payment methods do you accept?+
ACH, wire, corporate card and check. Net-30 standard for established clients; 50% deposit at signature for first-time engagements.
Do you provide a W-9 and Certificate of Insurance?+
Yes. Both are sent automatically with every contract. We carry $2M general liability.
What if our event is canceled?+
Standard policy: deposit non-refundable inside 60 days; full fee due inside 14 days. Force majeure handled case-by-case.
What if the comedian is sick or delayed?+
We invoke the named alternate. If neither performs, the deposit is fully refunded plus a 10% inconvenience credit toward a future booking.
Do you book outside the US?+
Yes. We have placed performers in Canada, Mexico, the UK and Bermuda. Visa and tax handling becomes part of the contract conversation.
Can you book virtual or hybrid sets?+
Yes. We have a dedicated virtual format with a separate fee schedule. See Services.
Do you handle holiday parties?+
Yes — gala-format clean comedy is one of our biggest categories from October through January. Book early.
Will the comedian also emcee the event?+
Some will, some won't. We'll be upfront about who is the right fit for which role.
Are your performers union members?+
Most are SAG-AFTRA. We handle any required paperwork.
How is privacy handled?+
We treat every brief as confidential. References are only shared after a mutual NDA when requested.
What time zones is your office in?+
We operate Eastern Time from Miami, with one team member based on the West Coast for late-day inquiries.
What if our budget is below your minimums?+
We will say so honestly. We will not place a performer below a fair fee.
How do I get started?+
Send an outline through the Contact page or call +1 (786) 216-8268. Most inquiries get a same-day response.
